Long-Term Outcome With Cardioverter-Defibrillator

چکیده
The automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator was implanted in 270 patients because of life-threatening arrhythmias over a 7 year period. There was a history of sustained ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation, or both, in 96% of these patients, 80% had one or more prior cardiac arrests and 78% had coronary artery disease as their underlying diagnosis. The average ejection fraction was 34%, and 96% of these patients had had an average of 3.4 antiarrhythmic drug failures per patient before defibrillator implantation. There were four perioperative deaths and eight patients had generator infection or generator erosion, or both, during the perioperative period or during long-term follow-up. Concomitant antiarrhythmic drug therapy was given to 69% of patients. Shocks from the device were given to 58% of patients,

THE EFFECT OF NURSE-PEER-LED SUPPORT INTERVENTION ON QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH AN IMPLANTABLE CARDIOVERTER-DEFIBRILLATOR: A RANDOMIZED CLINICAL TRIAL
Background & Aims: Nowadays, the quality of life and how coping and treatment of patients with an implantable cardiac defibrillator has led to concern and attempts to reduce or eliminate the problems of these patients in the people who provide health care services. This study aimed to determine the effect of nurse-peer-led support intervention on quality of life in patients with an implantable ...

OBJECTIVE The Copenhagen Outpatient ProgrammE - implantable cardioverter defibrillator (COPE-ICD) trial included patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillators in a randomized controlled trial of rehabilitation. After 6-12 months significant differences were found in favour of the rehabilitation group for exercise capacity, general and mental health. The aim of this paper is to explore t...
متن کاملImplantable cardioverter-defibrillator in a patient with dextrocardia situs inversus
Background: Dextrocardia is a congenital anomaly, which may have coexistent coronary artery disease (CAD), arrhythmias and conventional indications for device therapy. However, the implantation of transvenous leads can be technically challenging and the approach needs to be tailored to the patient's individual anatomy. Case presentation: A 54-year-old male with dextrocardia situs inversus and i...

Methods and Results-—In the Multicenter Automatic Defibrillator Implantation Trial With Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (MADIT-CRT), we evaluated long-term clinical outcome of heart failure (HF) or death, death, and HF alone by sex and QRS duration (dichotomized at 150 ms) in left bundle-branch block patients with CRT with defibrillator backup (CRT-D) versus implantable cardioverter-defibrill...
